"Our Rites of Passage Self Discovery Program is dedicated to empowering and improving the lives of Black Youth through a 22 week (20 Instructional Weeks/2 Week Journey to Ghana). During the intensive 22 Week Program, students take a self discovery journey in which they learn about self, where they come from and what they are capable of achieving, leadership development, financial literacy, drug/alcohol awareness and community service. Our goal is to create a safe space for Black Youth to grow, flourish and transition into adulthood."

Meet our 2023
Rites of Passage Instructor
Lavell Walton

Meet our 2023 Rites of Passage Instructor, Lavell Walton. We are honored and are looking forward to Mr Walton helping our young people to transition into adulthood . Mr Walton has an extensive teaching background in Seattle Public Schools as a lead facilitator in the Kingsmaker Program in Oakland California and Seattle Washington. It is his desire and vision to enhance and enrich youth and young adults in the areas of self and cultural development as well as economic growth.

9 Day Self Discovery Trip
to Ghana

A 13 day journey of self discovery for African Descent teens age 15 -18 who upon completion of a 20 week instructional course will travel to Ghana. The cost of the journey is $5,800 per person. This includes Round Trip Airfare, Accommodations, 2 Meals Per Day, Private Tour Guide, Transportation and Excursions. We will travel to the Cape Coast, Assin Manso, and Kumasi & Accra. Measurable Outcomes - Self Reflection/Discovery, Increased Self Confidence, Financial Literacy, Improve College readiness, Increase Service to Community, decrease the number of boys & girls in the juvenile system, Increased Knowledge of Self and higher expectation of future success.
